Earth Day!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter. We are now approaching Earth Day and have started learning more more about how we can help our planet. There is a very good website called Ecokids. It has manyinteresting facts about the Earth and fun games the children can play. http://www.ecokids.ca/pub/index.cfm

We had a presentation last week called the "N.E.D Show" NED stands for Never give up! Encourage others! Do your best! The man giving the presentation used a YO-YO to help deliver the message of having a good attitude and never giving up. The YO-YO's are on sale at the school if you are interested. The prices are: $6.50/$10.00/$15.00. They will be on sale for the rest of this week if you choose to purchase one for your child. If your child buys one it will be sized to fit him/her thus making it easier to use. The YO-YO's work well and are designed for children.

I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter! Enjoy your weekend and hopefully some nice spring weather. We hope you like the Easter crafts that the children made for you.

Our Favourite Time of Day! Choice Time!

During choice time children are free to choose an activity from a list I have selected. We have been exploring capacity in Math so today we were experiementing in the sand and water tables.

We have also been learning more about "SNOW". We conducted two different experiments this afternoon! We had a fantastic time today!

Happy 100 Days at School!

February News!

February is almost over and March is on it's way. We have had a lot of excitement this month. We celebrated "Winter Wellness Week" with many fun activities. We also had a wonderful Valentine's Day and 100th Day of school celebration. We now look forward to our March Break.

Winter Wellness Week~Feb.9-13

We are celebrating WINTER this week through fun activities that are planned for each day.

Monday- "Crazy Hair Day!"

Tuesday-"Crazy Footwear Day!"

Wednesday- "Wear favourite team clothing today"

Thursday- "P.J Day"- Bring your favorite stuffed toy.

Friday- "School Colours Day!" K-2 are ordering pizza today!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. We will celebrate Valentine's Day in our classroom next Friday, the 13th.

We have been counting the days at school and are getting very close to our 100th day. It is planned to be on the 18th of this month providing there are no storm days.

Happy February!

Mr. Groundhog saw his shadow so I guess we can expect at least 6 more weeks of winter. Many children were happy to hear this prediction and some were not. They liked learning more about Groundhog's and celebrating this special day. Thanks for helping fill out our Groundhog survey. Happy February to you all.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone. I wish you all the best in 2009. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

There is one really important date this month and that is January 19~ our skating day.

The children are happy to be back. I am too! We are slowly getting back into the swing of things. We are exploring our 5 Senses in more detail and have tried some really cool experiments to help us learn more.
